The driver of a van suspected to have been driving under the influence caused a fatal crash with a motorcyclist on Saturday in Garden Grove.
According to police, the driver of the van received a citation for what may have been an unsafe lane change.
The fatal motorcycle accident took place at the intersection of Haster Street and Lampson Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 24.
Police responded and found the motorcycle rider unresponsive. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been revealed.
Police report that their preliminary investigation determined that the van turned unsafely in front of the motorcyclist, causing the collision.
