A fatal multi-vehicle crash in Irvine happened early Monday on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just south of Jamboree Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) the fatal collision involved as many as five vehicles, including one that became fully engulfed in flames.
The CHP received a 911 call around 3:54 a.m. on Oct. 9th that motorists were blocking several lanes of the freeway after the deadly crash.
The drivers of a black Toyota Corolla, a blue Kia Optima, a light-colored sedan, a white SUV as well as a fifth vehicle were involved.
Paramedics responded to the scene to help the injured, but tragically one person died at the scene.
