Thirty-seven-year-old Jaime Curiel of Lake Elsinore was killed Monday afternoon in a head-on crash on the Ortega Highway near Lake Elsinore. The deadly wreck was reported around 12:50 p.m..
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that the motorcycle accident occurred when a man in a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer was driving westbound on the roadway, while Curiel was on a motorcycle headed eastbound, about two miles west of Grand Avenue.
The CHP reports that Curiel was eastbound and exiting the curve in the roadway while at the same time the driver of the Mitsubishi was turning left into his driveway leading to a head-on collision.
Sadly, Curiel was pronounced dead at the scene of the motorcycle accident. The driver of the Lancer was not injured.
