Linda Diaz, 30, of Riverside died in a traffic crash early Friday, March 8, just out side of Lake Elsinore between Ardenwood Way and Rosetta Canyon Dr.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office reported that she likely died shortly after the crash which occurred at 3:35 a.m.
The incident occurred on Highway 74 near Mermack Road when the SUV that Diaz was driving collided with a street sweeper that belongs to a company contracted by the city of Lake Elsinore.
“It had just completed cleaning both roadway shoulders and the center median when the collision occurred,” a sheriff’s spokesman said.
Impairment was not suspected as a contributor to the crash, according to a sheriff’s news release.
Based on the circumstances, Lake Elsinore PD’s Traffic Team responded to the scene to conduct a full investigation into the cause of the fatal collision.
