A 65-year-old man was killed and his 4-year-old son seriously injured after both were involved in an Irvine pedestrian accident, according to a news report.
Irvine police said that John Roger Alcorn had taken his son out trick-or-treating on Halloween night. As the pair crossed the street near West Yale Loop and Burwood Street, they were struck by a woman driving a Mazda 3.
Alcorn and his son were taken to a local trauma center, where he later died from his injuries. His son remained in critical condition.
The Mazda 3 driver remained at the scene to talk with investigators and was later released.
