Phong Khuu of Garden Grove was tragically killed on November 15 when he was struck by an alleged drunk driver, Scott McDonough, in Fountain Valley.
The fatal bicycle accident happened at around 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of Los Coches Street and Sunn Avenue.
According to the Fountain Valley Police Department, a gray Honda CR-V was making a U-turn at the intersection when it struck Khuu’s eastbound bicycle. Sixty-two-year-old Phong Khuu – was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, Scott McDonough, remained at the scene. Police report that he appeared to be under the influence and was arrested and booked into Orange County Jail on $100,000 bail.
