Forty-six year old William Detore was cycling in his home town of Sacramento California when he was run over and killed by a Sacramento city bus, which was heading west on L street past the California state Capitol. No passengers were injured.

Investigators are still trying to determine if Detore crashed into the side of the bus or if the bus hit him. Sacramento police report that they have no reason to suspect that the driver was impaired at the time of the accident. However, the driver has been tested and placed on administrative leave while police are awaiting the results.

While it is not clear from this brief news story, there are many factors that could have played into this accident. Was the bus in proper working order? Was the road slippery?
