In July 2022, Callahan & Blaine secured a more than $1 million arbitration award on behalf of its client, an executive and minority owner in two cannabis ventures in Colorado and California.
The case involved claims by Callahan & Blaine’s client that the majority owners in the cannabis ventures failed to adequately compensate him for his ownership interest in the companies upon his departure, and failed to reimburse him for substantial amounts of business expenses. C&B secured a total award, including attorneys’ fees and costs, of over $1 million for the client on these claims, and defeated all of the counter-claims brought by the majority owners.
The case was handled by Callahan & Blaine Supervising Attorney Michael J. Sachs, Responsible Attorneys Gaurav Reddy and Bryan Oberle, and Paralegal Tyler Reed.
