Two victims killed in a suspected DUI crash were identified Wednesday, according to the Orange County Coroner’s Office.
Cindi Darrelyn Zerovs, 71, and Mitchell Tyler Wade, 19, both of Newport Beach, were killed in a crash caused by a Sunset Beach driver suspected of drunk driving on Tuesday night.
According to police, the suspected drunk driver, Erik Kinser of Sunset Beach, was booked on suspicion of DUI.
Police report that Kinser was driving a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck northbound on Pacific Coast Highway when he allegedly veered over the center median and slammed into a 1999 Toyota Solara and a 2012 Lexus RX350. Both were driving in the southbound lanes of PCH.
Zerovs, the driver of the Lexus, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, while her fellow passenger, a 45-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital in Santa Ana for treatment of moderate injuries.
Wade, the Solara driver, was rushed to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, where he later was pronounced dead.
