Daniel Callahan of Callahan & Blaine Profiled in Attorney at Law Magazine/L.A. Edition

SANTA ANA, Calif. — Daniel J. Callahan, complex business litigation and catastrophic personal injury attorney and founder of Santa Ana, CA-based Callahan & Blaine, is currently featured on the cover of Attorney at Law Magazine, Los Angeles edition, and profiled as its “Attorney of the Month.”

In the feature article entitled, “Daniel J. Callahan: One Step Ahead,AAL Magazine wrote that Callahan “has helped shaped the expectations of victory not only in Southern California, but in the country” due to his many record-breaking verdicts and settlements.

Most notable is his $934 million jury verdict in a complex business litigation case, recognized as the largest jury verdict in the history of Orange County.  In addition, Callahan obtained a $50 million settlement in a personal injury case involving a dangerous condition of public property, which has been certified as the largest personal injury settlement in U.S. history.  Callahan also has the largest insurance bad faith judgment in Orange County history ($58 million), and the largest employment settlement ($38 million).

Callahan has distinguished himself as one of the top trial attorneys in the United States.  He has been repeatedly recognized by his peers for his incredible accomplishments as the recipient of the prestigious OCTLA Trial Lawyer of the Year Award three times (2000, 2004, 2012).

The National Law Journal has named Callahan one of the “Top 10 Attorneys in the United States.” He was voted “California Business Trial Lawyer of the Year” by California Lawyer Magazine.  In addition, he has been named one of the “Top 500 Lawyers in America” by LAWDRAGON, one of the Top 100 trial lawyers by the American Trial Association, one of the Best Lawyers in America every year since 2005 and one of the “Top 10 Lawyers in Southern California” by Super Lawyers.

Callahan has given nationwide seminars on litigation and published multiple articles on litigation strategy and practice. He has been a speaker at multiple continuing education seminars and regularly lectures on topics ranging from advanced trial skills to the use of technology in the courtroom. He also has given seminars on jury selection and opening statement at local, state and national conferences.

Callahan received his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Western Illinois University in 1976. In 1979, he graduated with honors from the University of California Law School at Davis, where he served as editor of the University’s law review. He later founded Callahan & Blaine on St. Patrick’s Day in 1984.
