A 97-year-old man has been killed after being hit by a car while attempting to cross a Garden Grove roadway, according to a news report.

Garden Grove police said that Augustine Choi was struck by a car while he was in the crosswalk at Brookhurst Street and Stanford Ave. in Garden Grove.  He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.  He died at the hospital two days following the accident.

Investigators said that the driver remained at the scene and was interviewed along with several other witnesses to the accident.
