Tragically, two elderly people were killed when their SUV was involved in a crash with another vehicle on the 91 Freeway in Yorba Linda early Sunday.
Officials said 91-year-old Francisca Solis, a resident of Anaheim; and 70-year-old Trinidad Solis, from Selma, California; died in the SUV accident at around 3:25 a.m. Both were airlifted to UCI Medical Center, and were declared dead within minutes of each other.
California Highway Patrol officials were not available to describe how the crash occurred.
The two vehicles collided about a half mile east of the 91/241 Toll Road interchange. According to the CHP log, one of the vehicles may have been stopped on the freeway just prior to the crash occurring. After the crash, one vehicle was left smoking.
