Thirty-three-year-old Karl Ian Vito Zamoranos of Carson was struck by a red Toyota Sienna van at the intersection of Michelson Drive and MacArthur Boulevard around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 23.
The Irvine Police Department confirmed that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, and also determined the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Unfortunately, Zamoranos suffered “serious injuries” as a result of the crash and was moved to a local hospital, where he later died.
