Kimberly Izquierdo, Veronica Amezola and Juvelyn Arroya died in an Uber crash in South Los Angeles Saturday morning on August 26.
The fatal car crash occurred at approximately 5:25 a.m. at South Vermont Avenue and West Century Boulevard. Police report that a white Mercedes-Benz was traveling at high speed when it ran through the red light and crashed head-on into a black Honda operating as an Uber rideshare.
As a result, three female passengers in the Uber car were tragically killed at the scene, one of them was ejected from the car.
A male passenger and the Uber driver were rushed to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance in critical condition.
The driver of the Mercedes was also taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Authorities identified the deceased women as 27-year-old Kimberly Izquierdo, 23-year-old Veronica Amezola and 23-year-old Juvelyn Arroya.
The cause of the fatal uber crash is currently under investigation.
