A 76-year-old man from Mexico has been killed in a Santa Ana hit-and-run pedestrian accident, according to a news report.

Santa Ana police said that Miguel Chavez Ceja, who had been visiting family in the area since September, was taking his regular morning walk when he was apparently stuck by a vehicle at Orange and Edinger avenues.  A passerby reported a man lying in the road to police; when officers arrived, they found that Ceja was dead.

Investigators said that the wreckage at the scene has led them to believe the car that hit Ceja is a dark blue 1995 BMW 740 iL, and will have damage to the left front and side as well as a missing driver’s side mirror.  Anyone with information on his fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident is asked to call Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
