Marvin Walker was tragically killed in a pre-dawn collision on the 91 Freeway in Riverside on Thursday, July 7 while riding his motorcycle.
According to police, the fatal motorcycle crash was reported at 4:47 a.m. in the eastbound lanes west of Pierce Street. Investigators have stated that they believe a Tesla Model Y was headed east in the carpool lane behind Walker’s motorcycle when they collided. Police stated that, as a result of the crash, Walker was thrown from his motorcycle.
Marvin Walker was 48-years-old and from Lake Elsinore.
The driver of the Tesla was not injured.
As of Thursday afternoon, police did not know whether the Tesla Model Y driver was using the autopilot feature at the time of the collision.
