University Park, Los Angeles, CA (March 18, 2024) – On the afternoon of Sunday, March 17, a collision on the 10 Freeway in the vicinity of the University of Southern California resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries. The incident, which involved a pickup truck and another vehicle, led to the death of 26-year-old Jordy Martin Recinos and left six individuals wounded.
The violent impact caused the pickup to overturn, tragically trapping Recinos inside. He was pronounced deceased at the accident site. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene, where firefighters worked diligently to free another adult male caught in the debris. In addition to the man extricated, emergency medical technicians provided care to four boys, ranging from 3 months to ten years old, and a 29-year-old woman for non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the wreck. Another male was treated for his injuries at the scene.
