In a tragic incident early Saturday in North Hollywood, a 25-year-old woman lost her life in a two-vehicle collision. Local authorities reported to the scene at the intersection of Tujunga Boulevard and Sherman Way around 12:40 a.m. according to representatives from the Los Angeles Police Department.
Upon arrival, LAPD officers found the woman’s vehicle, which had been traveling northbound on Tujunga Boulevard, had impacted with another vehicle heading eastbound on Sherman Way. The force of the crash inflicted fatal injuries on the young driver.
Members of the Los Angeles Fire Department responded swiftly but, despite their efforts, the 25-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has yet to be released pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the second involved vehicle stayed at the crash site, working with law enforcement to provide information regarding the collision. Police acknowledged the cooperation of the surviving driver and have not implied any immediate fault.
Officials are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the cause of this devastating event. The intersection was closed for several hours to allow for clean-up and the preliminary forensic investigation, causing early morning traffic disruptions in the area.
