A tragic two-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a woman in Palmdale, as reported by officials on Monday.
The incident took place on westbound State Route 18 just west of 263rd Street East at approximately 11 p.m. on Friday.
The collision involved a 2020 Ram heading eastbound and a 2018 Ford traveling in the opposite direction. The investigation revealed that both vehicles collided head-on, leading to critical injuries for the Ford driver, a Lake Balboa woman in her 50s, which later proved fatal.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner is currently withholding the deceased woman’s identity, as her next of kin has yet to be notified.
The Ram driver was identified as 43-year-old James Michael Wolfe of Palmdale. Wolfe suffered injuries in the crash and was consequently taken to the Antelope Valley Medical Center for treatment.
