An early Sunday morning car accident in Hyde Park, Los Angeles County, resulted in serious injuries and the arrest of the driver who attempted to escape the crash scene. The accident, which involved a family’s sedan colliding head-on with a power pole, occurred at the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and 52nd Street around 2 a.m., according to Los Angeles Police Department reports.
The crash inflicted heavy damage on the dark-colored vehicle and left a visible blood pool on the pavement, signaling the severity of the incident. The driver, identified as the father of the family, abandoned the car following the collision, leaving behind an adult female and three children, including a 5-month-old baby, in the wreck.
Los Angeles Fire Department promptly dispatched medical teams to the crash site, where the infant was found in critical condition. Both the mother and the baby were rushed to the hospital for emergency care, the mother’s status undisclosed.
