A Los Angeles Fire Department recruit firefighter tragically lost his life early Monday morning while assisting at the scene of a collision on the 101 Freeway in Studio City, officials reported.
The incident unfolded just after 5 a.m. on the northbound lanes near Vineland Avenue, where the firefighter was fatally injured during the course of providing aid at the crash site.
Despite prompt and exhaustive emergency medical efforts, the firefighter succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by Erik Scott, spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The identity of the fallen recruit has been withheld to allow for proper notification of family members, who are now mourning the loss of their loved one.
