BURBANK, Calif. — An early morning collision on April 10th has left a motorcyclist injured on the 134 Freeway near Hollywood Way in Burbank. The incident involving several vehicles transpired in the westbound lanes at approximately 7:08 a.m., just east of Olive Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene where a white garden truck is reported to have made contact with a yellow motorcycle. The collision caused the motorcyclist to be ejected onto the roadway.
Once on the ground, the rider was immobile in the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane. A black pickup truck positioned itself behind the downed rider, presumably to shield the individual from oncoming traffic. It is believed that up to three additional vehicles were either involved in the incident or stopped immediately following the event.
Emergency services, including the Los Angeles Fire Department, were dispatched to the location, sending paramedics to provide medical attention to the injured party. Current conditions of the motorcyclist are not known as details are yet to be released.
A comprehensive investigation is being conducted to determine the events leading up to the accident as well as to establish who bears responsibility for the incident.
Authorities have not released information regarding the current traffic conditions or the identities of those involved in the crash. Further updates are expected to be provided as the investigation progresses.
