A tragic accident occurred late Saturday night in Pomona, California, when a vehicle, operated by a man suspected to be under the influence, collided with another car at the intersection of South White Avenue and Phillips Boulevard, resulting in the death of three women.
The suspect, identified as Pomona resident Victor Siharath, was apprehended following the fatal crash. Police reported that the collision took place shortly before 11 p.m., igniting an immediate response from local authorities. Siharath, who has a record of a previous DUI, was arrested on charges related to felony DUI after law enforcement deemed him to be impaired at the time of the accident.
The Pomona Police Department confirmed that the impact of the crash caused moderate to severe injuries to all parties involved. First responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department rendered aid at the scene.
In the aftermath of the crash, two women were pronounced dead at the location. The third fatality occurred at a medical facility where the victims were transported for urgent care.
The deceased were later identified as 58-year-old Lorena Morales of Montclair, and two Pomona residents, 33-year-old Alejandra Olaez and 33-year-old Yesenia Ochoa. Morales was said to have been driving her vehicle accompanied by her husband as the front-seat passenger, while Olaez’s 12-year-old daughter was seated in the back.
