In Los Angeles, golf icon Tiger Woods is determined to walk on his own as he faces a challenging recovery following a devastating car accident earlier this year. At the age of 45, Woods sustained severe injuries, including open fractures to his lower right leg, and damage to his foot and ankle after his vehicle veered off the road at nearly double the legal speed limit.
After undergoing surgery, Woods returned to his Florida residence for extensive rehabilitation. The 15-time major champion described the aftermath of the February single-vehicle crash and his recovery journey as more intense and painful than any previous injury he has suffered.
The golf legend opened up about the grueling rehabilitation experience in a recent interview with Golf Digest. Despite having undergone five back procedures in the past, including a spinal-fusion surgery in April 2017, Woods admitted that the physical pain and rehabilitation process from his latest injuries were unlike anything he’s ever endured. The focus of his daily routine has been overwhelmingly centered on a primary goal: gaining the ability to walk independently once again.
Throughout this ordeal, Woods has been bolstered by a tremendous outpouring of support from fans and associates both within and outside the golfing community. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the global encouragement and goodwill messages he received, noting their significance and contribution to his recovery.
