A tragic roadway incident resulted in the loss of a life and several critical injuries on the westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway, just west of the 110 Freeway in Los Angeles.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the lanes were closed for extensive hours as emergency personnel attended to the calamity of a two-vehicle collision near the Hoover Street off-ramp. The impact of the crash that occurred earlier that afternoon was significant enough to involve the Los Angeles Fire Department and result in a temporary freeway shutdown.
The collision claimed the life of an adult male at the scene. In addition to the fatality, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported that five others were severely injured and transferred to local medical facilities. Amongst the injured were four children; a 3-month-old baby, along with three other boys aged 6, 7, and 10, suffered serious to critical injuries. A 29-year-old female also sustained severe injuries. Another adult male involved in the accident emerged without harm.
