In a high-speed pursuit, a motorcyclist was critically injured after crashing on California’s 5 Freeway in Los Angeles. Law enforcement officials reported the chase initiated in Pomona and spanned across Orange County, with the motorcyclist reaching speeds upwards of 100 mph while dodging between vehicles.
The incident occurred Friday evening, approximately at 8:40 p.m., near Atlantic Boulevard on the northbound trajectory of the freeway. Eyewitness Desmond Shaw from KCAL reported the motorcyclist was launched an estimated 50 feet from the bike upon impact.
Shaw, recounting the event, stated, “I just witnessed one of the most intense crashes with a motorcycle that I’ve ever seen in my career.” Following the crash, the rider showed signs of movement. First responders quickly arrived at the scene and the injured party was transported to a local hospital, his condition remains undisclosed.
This incident has prompted an ongoing investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with further information to come forward as updates are expected to follow concerning the motorcyclist’s condition and the events leading up to the crash.
