Fullerton, CA – A tragic vehicle collision occurred in Fullerton early morning on March 24, 2024, where a man was found deceased at the scene. Fullerton Police Officers were dispatched to the vicinity of N. Gilbert St. and Rosecrans Ave. around 12:32 AM after reports of a single-vehicle accident were received.
First responders came upon a heavily damaged gray 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan on the west side of Gilbert St., just north of the intersection. The sole occupant, identified as an adult male driver, was discovered inside. Despite quick response, Fullerton Fire Department personnel pronounced him dead at the location.
The preliminary findings suggest that the vehicle was speeding northbound on Gilbert St. when it struck a wall. The severity of the impact indicated that the car had been traveling at a high rate of speed.
The identity of the deceased driver will be released by the Orange County Coroner’s Office following notification of next of kin and completion of their procedures.
Detectives are currently investigating the crash and have not ruled out the possibility of drugs or alcohol being a contributing factor. However, no other vehicles are thought to have played a role in the accident at this time.
