SILVERADO CANYON, California — A tragic car accident claimed the life of 34-year-old Austin Crump of La Habra on the night of March 13, 2024. The collision, which involved a white SUV and a black pickup truck, occurred on Santiago Canyon Road, not far from Limestone Spur Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash happened at approximately 9 p.m. on March 9th, when Crump’s 2018 Ford collided head-on with a 1993 Toyota driven by a 42-year-old man from Santa Ana. Both drivers sustained fatal injuries in the incident. Crump was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Toyota succumbed to his injuries at Orange County Global Medical Center.
Investigators at the scene found both vehicles with extensive front-end damage, indicating the severity of the head-on collision. The vehicles were subsequently removed from the crash site.
The CHP has reported that there are indications that alcohol consumption by one or both drivers may have been a contributing factor in the accident. The matter is currently under an ongoing investigation as officials work to establish the precise cause and determine liability.
