In Buena Park, a tragic incident occurred early Saturday morning when a vehicle struck a traffic signal, resulting in two fatalities and two injuries.
Police responded to the scene at approximately 3:47 a.m. after being alerted to an accident on Beach Boulevard near Cascade Way, just south of Malvern Avenue.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered that a vehicle, which was carrying four individuals, had ignited into flames on the southwest corner of Beach Boulevard and Stage Road/Cascade Way intersection.
The Orange County Fire Authority was quick to respond, extinguishing the vehicle fire and rescuing two of the passengers. These individuals were subsequently transported to a local medical center to receive necessary medical attention. Updates on their current medical state have not been released to the public.
The tragedy was compounded by the confirmed fatalities of two men, both in their 30s, who were in the front seats of the car at the time of the collision. They were declared deceased at the scene of the accident.
The cause of the devastating crash remains unclear as investigations are still underway.
