Sunday morning in Mission Viejo was the scene of a tragic accident when pedestrian Marty Mannani was struck and killed.
The fatal pedestrian accident occurred at approximately 7:35 a.m. on Marguerite Parkway Street near Alerzal.
Police report that 64-year-old Marty Mannani, of San Juan Capistrano, was struck by an unidentified vehicle while attempting to cross the street. Tragically, Mr. Mannani was pronounced dead at the scene, 12 minutes after the crash occurred.
The driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash.
