A tragic Santa Ana car accident injured three people, one of whom was eight months pregnant who lost her baby on the morning of Friday, June 26.
According to Santa Ana police, the driver of one of the vehicles fled the scene on foot and they are currently been sought in connection with the horrible hit-and-run car accident. Police are asking that anyone who may have information about the collision to contact them at 714-245-8208.
The terrible car accident occurred Friday morning with first responders arriving at the area of First and Lacy streets just after 9:45 a.m.
Orange County firefighters treated three injured people and took them to a local hospital for further treatment. One of the passengers was the pregnant woman, who underwent emergency surgery, but the unborn child was tragically unable to be saved.
Officials didn’t immediately disclose the conditions of the other two people injured in the crash.
Investigators learned that one of the vehicles was traveling eastbound on First Street before starting a left turn toward northbound Lacy Street. The vehicle was then struck by a second vehicle speeding westbound on First Street.
The driver of the speeding vehicle fled on foot before police arrived. The two injured passengers in that vehicle, including the pregnant woman, were seated in the back seat. The driver of the other vehicle, a woman, was also hospitalized.
Officers were not sure if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
