A 17-year-old girl has died from injuries she sustained in a Huntington Beach pedestrian accident, according to a news report.

Huntington Beach police responded to a call about a traffic accident involving a pedestrian at Beach Boulevard and Yorktown Avenue.   When they arrived, they found Monique Zarazua, 17, of Huntington Beach, lying in the street.  She was treated by paramedics and taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange in critical condition.  Ms. Zarazua later died of her injuries at the hospital.

Police said that Ms. Zarazua was walking in a crosswalk when she was struck by a black Cadillac driven by a 54-year-old Huntington Beach man.  The driver was questioned by police and later released.
