In a tragic turn on New Year’s Eve in Fullerton, 17-year-old Luis Hernandez was hit by a car while skateboarding. Hernandez was transported to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries where he sadly died.
In the early afternoon of New Year’s Eve, Hernandez was struck on the 2400 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue by a gray Mercedes sedan.
The cause of the skateboard accident has not yet been determined. However, the driver stayed on the scene and cooperated fully with authorities.
There was no immediate evidence that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
