According to Long Beach police, Joseph Gammoh was walking on the sidewalk along East Seventh Street near Channel Drive when he was hit by a Honda Accord. The 23-year-old female driver had been traveling east on Seventh Street when she lost control of the vehicle and drove onto the sidewalk, hitting Gammoh. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A witness at the scene said that a dark colored sedan in the lane next to the Honda veered over and the driver lost control when she took evasive action. The Honda driver was not injured and no arrests were made.
