A 13-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a Newport Beach bicycle accident, according to a news report.
Newport Beach Police Department officials said that the unidentified boy was riding south on Irvine Avenue when a car traveling in the same direction attempted to make a turn onto Sherington Place and hit him. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the bicycle accident is underway.
