Five people in two pickup trucks have been injured after the two vehicles collided into each other in a carpool lane over I-5 in Lake Forest, according to a news report.

The California Highway Patrol said that the two pickup trucks crashed into each other on the flyover carpool lane linking northbound I-5 to I-405. One of the pickups landed on its side and a couple in their 50s was trapped in the wreckage for a half-hour before Orange County Fire Authority personnel were able to free them. The husband and wife were taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo with multiple injuries.

Five people were in the other pickup involved in the crash. Three of them were taken to Hoag Hospital in Irvine with minor injuries. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
