A 72-year-old female pedestrian was tragically killed after being struck by a truck on Hope Street in Westminster on Monday, October 10.
According to the Westminster Police Department, the fatal pedestrian accident took place in the area of Hope Street and Bolsa Avenue.
An initial investigation suggests a truck made a left turn on Hope Street onto Bolsa Avenue. Then it hit the woman as she walked from north to south on a crosswalk.
At about 9:55 a.m., police rushed to the location of the incident. Arriving officers then discovered an unconscious 72-year-old Vietnamese woman who had head trauma.
WPD officers and Orange County Fire Authority paramedics performed CPR and tried to revive the woman. However, she succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene.
It doesn’t appear that drugs or alcohol contributed to the incident. Officials withheld the identity of the woman pending notification of next of kin.
