A three-month-old baby girl has died and four other people were injured in a crash on I-5 in Tustin, according to a news report.
The California Highway Patrol said that a Dodge Caravan carrying five people from Sammamish, Washington, was traveling south on I-5 just north of Tustin Ranch Road when it hit an unidentified object and caught fire. The driver pulled the van to the shoulder of the freeway and the four adults were able to escape. They were unable to free the baby from her car seat before the van became engulfed in flames. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 30-year-old man driving the car suffered major injuries. Three adult passengers — a 28-year-old woman, a 60-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man — were also injured. All of the injured were taken to Orange County Global Medical Center.
