According to police, a man believed to be in his 60s was riding his bike down a bike loop before the Euclid Street crosswalk and was struck by an OCTA bus that was traveling north on Laguna Road. Several passengers were riding the small bus that OCTA uses for door-to-door pickups, but no one on the bus was reported to be injured.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the accident and are asking anyone who witnessed it to call Fullerton police at 714-738-6715.
If you or a loved one is involved in an accident that causes death or serious injury, call Callahan & Blaine, California’s Premier Litigation Firm. We are one of the leading catastrophic injury firms in the state of California. In fact, in the last five years alone our lawyers have obtained over $1.2 billion in verdicts and settlements, including a $7.25 million settlement in 2010 for a man who was run over trying to board an OCTA bus. Ronald E. Cunningham was injured when he fell under at bus while attempting to board and was run over, crushing his left leg. The driver claimed she never saw him, although she did say she heard Cunningham knocking on the side of the bus before he fell. Although Cunningham had a blood alcohol level of .27 at the time of the accident, an OCTA spokesman conceded that riders should not be denied the right to ride the bus based solely on intoxication level.
Callahan & Blaine also obtained a record breaking $50 Million settlement against the City of Dana Point, which has been certified as the largest personal injury settlement in the history of the United States. Callahan & Blaine has recently obtained a $28 Million settlement for a driver who was hit by a runaway truck wheel on the freeway, and a $7 million settlement for a bicyclist who was struck by a newspaper delivery truck.
