Brooklyn, New York Preschooler Killed After Slipping and Falling Under School Bus

A Brooklyn Preschooler, four year old Amron Altman, was >>killed nydailynewsl<<

just a few feet from his thirteen year old brother when he slipped and fell on a patch of ice and slid under the wheels of his school bus. The bus driver reported that he did not see either child when he pulled up to their home, and so decided to pull around the block and come back in a few minutes.

It was just at that moment that Amron crested a snow bank and slid under the wheels of the bus. Bystanders flagged the bus down as it looped around the block. The horrified driver had no idea that he had hit anything or anyone. He immediately called an ambulance, but the child was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, an employee of Yeshiva Bais Chaim Yoshua, was given a Breathalyzer test and passed; he will not face any charges in the incident. Local media is calling the death a “horrible tragedy.” However, some local witnesses have complained that the city may have been partly responsible; they say that the city of Brooklyn did not do enough to remove the snow and ice that caused Amron to slip under the bus. Several local men stepped in and cleared away the snow and ice in the street where Amron was killed.
