A male driver and his female passenger left their wrecked Honda against a divider on the 91 freeway and ran away after rear-ending a van, according to a news report.

Jose Flores, a witness to the accident, said he saw the Honda rear-end a Ford Windstar mini-van, lose control and then crash into the center divider of the 91 freeway three times.  After he witnessed the driver and passenger run from the scene, Flores followed them to a nearby apartment complex and talked to the woman, who he said told him the couple had been arguing and went for a drive to calm down.  The woman told Flores that the male driver began driving at a high speed, which resulted in the crash.

The California Highway Patrol detained the couple briefly before taking them to the hospital for their injuries.
