40-year-old Joshua Gene Cervantes was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle while riding his electric bike in San Clemente on Tuesday, June 7.
According to police, the driver involved in the fatal bike accident is currently being sought.
Police report that Cervantes was riding along northbound Avenida La Pata near Avenida Pico when he was struck by the vehicle at approximately 1:25 a.m.
First repsonders arrived to find Cervantes with head and neck trauma and he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators found pieces of the vehicle at the scene and later found the vehicle, unoccupied, a short distance away.
Further information about the vehicle or where, specifically, it was located was not disclosed. The driver of the vehicle was still being sought.
