A 26-year-old man has died after he was hit by a driver suspected of DUI while skateboarding on an Anaheim street, according to a news report.
Anaheim police said that Andrew Garcia was riding a skateboard north on Magnolia Avenue near Ball Road when he was hit by a Nissan Titan pickup truck. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he later died.
The driver of the pickup — Jose Frutos Gonzalez, 63, of Anaheim — fled the scene and was later arrested on suspicion of DUI after witnesses followed him to an apartment complex in the 900 block of South Dale Avenue.
