A motorcyclist was critically injured in Costa Mesa Tuesday evening after colliding with an SUV.
The yet to be identified male was riding north on South Coast Drive when a Toyota 4-Runner SUV traveling the opposite way on the road turned left into Carmel Drive. Tragically, the motorcyclist collided with the SUV as it was making its left turn, crashing into the side of it.
The motorcyclist was transported to Orange County Global Medical Center by ambulance while in critical condition at approximately 5:20 p.m.
No other people were reported to be injured in the crash.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene of the accident and police say that DUI was not suspected to have played a role in the motorcycle accident.
