A former female patient at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange has alleged that she was the victim of a sexual assault by a male hospital employee, according to a news report.

The unidentified woman alleges that she was the victim of a sexual assault while she was in the hospital’s emergency room.  She reportedly identified a male patient-care technician as her assailant.

Orange County police said that no arrests have been made, but an investigation has been launched into the allegation.  St. Joseph Hospital officials said that they did receive a complaint regarding the incident, but have declined to provide additional details.  Hospital officials said they are cooperating with the Orange County police in the investigation and have initiated their own internal review of the complaint.
