Tragedy in Tustin when a car packed with seven teenagers lost control and struck a pole, killing two 17-year-old boys identified as Pedro Fuentes and Jason Anguiano. The car they were in, an Infiniti M37 which was traveling eastbound on Legacy Road in Tustin on Friday afternoon, May 18 around 2:45 p.m. when police say it veered off the road and hit a cement post, causing it to spin and slam into the rear of a parked moving van.
Pedro Fuentes was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, 17-year-old Jason Anguiano of Santa Ana, died Sunday night. It wasn’t immediately known if the passengers were wearing seat belts. The Jaws of Life were used to extract the victims from the vehicle, before transporting them to the hospital. Four males and three females were in the car at the time of the accident, three of the male victims are 17 years old, two of the girls are 17 and another victim is a 20-year-old woman. The teens were students at Century High School in Santa Ana, KTLA reported.

“It feels like a nightmare,” Fuentes’ sister, Julie Quiroz told Los Angeles Times. “His room is now just empty. That’s all we have left of him.”
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, though Orange Country Register reports that speed may have been a factor. We will update information here as we get it.
Fuentes’ family launched a GoFundMe account over the weekend to help pay for funeral expenses.
“He was an amazing loving son, brother, and friend,” his family wrote. “Pedro will always be remembered as caring, humble, and full of happiness.”
