Three Injured After Car Crashes Into Westminster Coffee Shop

Three people have been injured after a car crashed into a Westminster coffee shop, according to a news report.

Westminster police said that a man in his 60s drove his Lexus LS 460 through the front plate glass window of Boulangerie Pierre & Patisserie in the 9400 block of Edinger Avenue. The driver and two restaurant customers were injured in the crash.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics. A woman in her 40s inside the restaurant was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. A man who had been sitting outside the building suffered traumatic injuries and was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Police investigators said that it appeared the driver may have mistaken the gas pedal for the brake pedal; the investigation is ongoing.
