Daniel J. Callahan & Edward Susolik to Present Litigation Management Seminar to American Corporate Counsel Association

On November 17, 2011 Daniel J. Callahan and Edward Susolik of Callahan & Blaine will present a seminar on litigation management to approximately 50 general counsel members of the American Corporate Counsel Association.  The seminar, entitled “Litigation Strategies for the Defense:  Secrets and Insights for Corporate Counsel,” will discuss strong and powerful strategies on defending lawsuits, including litigation management, cross-complaints, arbitration, pleadings and discovery, dispositive motions, trial and settlement/mediation.  The seminar will also cover such diverse areas such as critical pre-litigation strategies, cost-effective communications with outside counsel, maximizing insurance coverage and general litigation management.

In addition to Messrs. Callahan and Susolik, the panel will also include Judge David Thompson, Assistant Presiding Judge of the Orange County Superior Court, who will provide the judicial perspective on litigation management, as well as Michael Baroni, general counsel for Palace Entertainment, an experienced general counsel who will provide the “in-house” point of view.

The seminar will be three hours long and 3.0 hours of MCLE credit will be provided.  A number of written materials and handouts will be presented to the seminar attendees.

This seminar is part of the ACCA Double Header programs, put on by sponsors of the American Corporate Counsel Association such as Callahan & Blaine.  At the conclusion of the MCLE seminar, the attendees will be hosted to a dinner at the Honda Center, to be followed by the exciting Anaheim Ducks v. Los Angeles Kings hockey game in several of the luxurious Honda Center suites.  This event will provide attendees a wonderful combination of continuing education, networking with colleagues and the excitement of NHL hockey.  This is Callahan & Blaine’s fifth Double Header for the American Corporate Counsel Association, including events with both the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The Double Header will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.  The seminar portion of the program will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the corporate meeting rooms of the Honda Center.  Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m.   The Ducks v. Kings game will begin at 7:30, at which time the group will move to the designated suites to watch the game.  Attendance to the seminar is limited to members of the American Corporate Counsel Association.
