A 28-year-old Placentia man was killed and four other people were injured in a head-on collision in Fullerton where both drivers are suspected of DUI, according to a news report.

Fullerton police said that Pedro Pineda-Navarro was a passenger in a Honda Civic that was traveling south on Lemon Street and then turned into the northbound lanes and hit a Lincoln Aviator SUV head-on. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other passengers were transported to a local trauma center in critical condition. The driver of the Honda Civic was taken into custody on suspicion of felony DUI but was later released for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police said he may face arrest after he completes medical treatment.

In addition, the driver of the SUV was also suspected of DUI but was released to paramedics for treatment of his injuries.
