Los Alamitos police said that officers were called to the scene of a crash between the Mini Cooper and the Dodge Caravan at the intersection of Ball Road and Bloomfield Street. The Mini Cooper wound up in the parking lot of a corner gas station; the male driver was seriously injured and taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The female driver of the minivan sustained minor injuries and was taken by a family member to Los Alamitos Medical Center, according to police. Witnesses told police that the minivan ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into the Mini Cooper. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
